New Zealand is home to lots of natural single track, built by miners back in the old Gold Rush days. These tracks can be found throughout the North and South Island, but the really good terrain is found in the South. On top of this already gifted country, Kiwi’s know how to build good tracks. New Trails in the Works are Re- Defining Single Track Epic-ness
Since the Old Ghost Road was completed in December 2016, it has proven to be a grand success for the local area of Westport and Nelson Tasman Region. Old Ghost Road is popular on the mountain bike scene as The Longest Backcountry Single Track. But there is already another up and coming epic trail known as the Pike 29 Memorial Track in the works! The Pike 29 will run from a small town called Blackball on the West Coast to the famous Pancake Rocks in Punakaiki. Pike 29 will take in another long stretch of single track. It will span 65 KM through lush native West Coast bush, alpine tops of the Paparoa Range and the beautiful limestone country.
